CW to Again Premiere All Fall Series in October

'Tomorrow People' and 'Reign' are first newcomers to bow, in third week of TV season

The CW is sticking with its strategy of bowing fall fare outside the crush of the first two weeks of the television season, announcing October start dates for all of its shows.

Net’s three new shows will roll out over a seven-day period in mid-October, starting Oct. 9 with “The Tomorrow People” (pictured), which airs behind last season’s top newcomer, “Arrow.” Those Wednesday premieres come two nights after the season premieres of dramas “Hart of Dixie” and “Beauty and the Beast,” which are shifting to Monday.

Thursday, Oct. 10, sees the premiere of the CW’s top series, “The Vampire Diaries,” followed by the series launch of “Reign.” And the following Tuesday, Oct. 15, will be the premiere night for “Vampire Diaries” spinoff “The Originals,” which leads into veteran “Supernatural.”

Friday’s pairing of “The Carrie Diaries” and “America’s Next Top Model,” with this edition featuring both male and female models, doesn’t roll out until Oct. 25.

The October starts not only gets the CW’s shows away from the onslaught of premieres on the other broadcast networks, but also reduces the number of weeks when shows have to air reruns later in the season.

Fox and ABC are the only broadcasters that have yet to reveal their fall premiere dates.
