‘X-Men’ casts Dinklage as villain

Singer to direct next franchise installment, 'Days of Future Past'

Peter Dinklage will play the villain in Fox’s “X-Men: Days of Future Past.”

Bryan Singer will direct, with Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Jennifer Lawrence returning. Also, Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman are reprising their roles as Prof. X and Wolverine.

Singer announced it on Twitter last night with the tweet “Officially like to welcome #PeterDinklage from #GameOfThrones to #XMEN #DaysofFuturePast Very very excited!”

“Days of Future Past” is based on the 1981 story in the Marvel comic “Uncanny X-Men” and will include characters from the 1960s first class as well as future versions of the original characters.

In it is unknown at this time what character Dinklage would be playing but sources have told Variety it would be the main antagonist.

Dinklage can still be seen as Tyrion Lannister on HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” which premieres March 31.

He is repped by Insight.
