Turner Broadcasting System has tapped Disney executive Giorgio Stock to run its European business.
Stock joins Turner Intl. as prexy of TBS Europe, Middle East and Africa in April, reporting to Gerhard Zeiler, prexy of TBS Intl.
Stock as at Disney for 15 years, most recently as executive VP and general manager of Disney Consumer Products, Publishing and Retail, EMEA.
At Turner, he will be responsible for its webs across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, which include CNN Intl., Cartoon Network, Boomerang, TCM and Glitz.
Move comes as Zeiler, appointed a year ago, restructures the company with the expected loss of around a third of staff.
He said: “Looking with fresh eyes at our business as a true leader, Stock will be a strong addition to TBS Intl.”
Stock added: “Opportunities abound to expand our brands and franchises across existing and emerging platforms and to build the foundations for new consumer relevant propositions, leveraging the vast creative output and resources of both Turner and Time Warner.”
