With the Super Bowl less than three weeks away and pre-game partying a high priority, Travel Channel has greenlit unscripted skein “Tailgate Takeover.”
Reality show follows Adam Richman (“Man v. Food”) as he explores the best tailgate parties around the nation. Travel Channel ordered 13 half-hour episodes for summer, though will offer viewers a sneak peak of the series with “Super Bowl Tailgate Takeover,” a one hour spesh to debut at 9 p.m. Jan. 30, four days before the big game.
“In ‘Tailgate Takeover,’ Adam will lead the network’s quest in introducing the latest genre of travel entertainment,” said Travel Channel president Lauren Ong. “He’ll take this national pastime to another dimension as he travels coast-to-coast from one outrageous build after another.”
Cabler’s g.m. Andy Singer added: “In the one-hour special, we’re showing how some of the best NFL tailgaters party all football season from various games around the league. Then our new series will provide an even larger look at the unbelievable lengths fans across the country go to celebrate before a big event.”
“Tailgate Takeover” and “Super Bowl Tailgate Takeover” are produced by Sharp Entertainment.
