Sandy Varo Jarrell has been named TLC’s senior veep of production and development, west coast. She is tasked with overseeing strategic direction and storytelling tone of new and ongoing projects in TLC’s Los Angeles office, and steps into her new role on Nov. 12.
Varo Jarrell arrives at TLC from ABC Family, where the exec led unscripted programming and development. Before that, she was veep of reality programming and development at Lifetime, and has worked at the Eye’s unscripted division, as well.
“Sandy has a long and rich history of producing compelling, high-quality programming across a variety of networks and genres. Having had the opportunity to work with her before, I know she will be a valuable new member of the TLC team, and continue to bring our audience the strong characters and remarkable stories they tune in for day after day,” said Nancy Daniels, g.m. of the net.
Additionally, Howard Lee has been named exec veep of development and production, east coast.
