Susan Sarandon is returning to the small screen and will appear as a guest star on an upcoming episode of the CBS comedy “Mike & Molly.”
The Oscar winner, who has also held TV parts in shows like “30 Rock” and “The Big C,” will play a literary idol of Melissa McCarthy’s Molly character. Named JC Small, it’s no surprise that the character is described as being “part JD Salinger with a touch William Faulkner and a sprinkle of Gore Vidal.”
McCarthy and Sarandon also co-star in the upcoming film “Tammy,” which McCarthy co-wrote with her husband, Ben Falcone.
“Mike & Molly” returns midseason to CBS. No airdate for this episode has been set.
