Art may imitate life for Susan Sarandon and her actress-daughter Eva Amurri Martino, who have earned a pilot production commitment from NBC for a mother-daughter comedy dubbed “Growing Ivy.”
The Warner Bros. TV laffer is based on an idea of Martino’s revolving around a career-centered young woman who decides to focus on her personal life after her eccentric mother moves in.
Thesp Will McCormack (“Brothers and Sisters”) and Martino are co-writing the script for the half-hour single-camera vehicle. McCormack and Rashida Jones are exec producing through their Le Train Train production banner. Sarandon (pictured left) and Martino (right) are serving as co-EPs.
