Starz Promotes PR Exec Apostolou

Starz has promoted Theano Apostolou to exec veep of communications, ensuring she will remain the network’s chief press officer and spokesperson.

The news comes with Starz preparing to launch its next key original series, “Da Vinci’s Demons,” next month.

“Theano has played an integral role in accelerating the Starz brand as we solidify ourselves as an independent, publicly traded, global entertainment company,” said Starz CEO Chris Albrecht, to whom Apostolou reports.

Apostolou will oversee all programming and media relations initiatives for Starz, as well as talent relations, special events, awards campaigns and industry and corporate press outreach.

She joined Starz in 2011 as senior corporate communcations and program publicity veep, after having served in several executive roles at AMC Networks, including  spearheading campaigns for “Mad Men,” “Breaking Bad” and “The Walking Dead.”
