ReelzChannel has signed an output deal with Asylum Entertainment that will bring 50 hours of unscripted programming, distributed over 10 series, to the network in 2014.

The deal extends of a relationship between the network and Asylum that began in 2011 with the acquisition of “The Kennedys” miniseries. There has also been a subsequent development deal yielding Asylum-produced unscripted programming for the network including “Beverly Hills Pawn,” “The Capones” and “Hollywood Hillbillies.”

“Asylum is one of the great TV production companies and, especially as an independent network, we are lucky to have such committed partners as (president and chief creative officer) Jonathan Koch and (president-CEO) Steve Michaels,” ReelzChannel CEO Stan E. Hubbard said. “Reelz; viewers, distributors and sponsors will be the beneficiaries with an immense amount of truly original programming coming to our network.”

Said Koch: “Reelz has proven that they are absolutely committed to presenting great original programming for their audience and distributors. We are honored to be a part of that initiative in such a significant way.”
