Pierce Gagnon, the tyke thesp who earned raves for his work in Rian Johnson’s 2012 feature film “Looper,” will play the son of Halle Berry’s character in upcoming CBS drama “Extant.”
Commenting on Gagnon’s work in “Looper,” in which he played the son of Emily Blunt’s character, Bradley Cooper told Variety that “Gagnon was fierce and utterly childlike and evoked so many potentially cliched characters; it was a character we’ve seen a hundred times, and he made it new.”
In “Extant,” Berry will play an astronaut returning from a year-long solo space mission who tries to reconnect with her husband and son in their everyday life. Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television and CBS Television Studios are producing the show, which is scheduled to premiere in summer 2014.
Gagnon’s other credits include “A Friggin Christmas Miracle,” “Wish I was Here,” “Rio 2” and “Tomorrowland.”
