Sources indicate that Legendary is eyeing Johnson for a development post. Legendary is firing up a TV operation under the direction of former Warner Bros. TV Group prexy Bruce Rosenblum, who joined the company last month. Legendary is also poised to relocate its home base of production to NBCUniversal after a long run at WB concludes at year’s end.
Sources said Rosenblum was still likely to recruit other senior development exec in addition to Johnson as he builds the division from the bottom up.
Johnson spent nine years with Wonderland while it was based at Warner Bros. TV. He exiting last month when the company left the WB fold and received new funding from private equity shingle LD Entertainment.
Before joining Wonderland, Johnson had a long tenure as an exec at Fox.
A rep for Legendary declined comment.
