Perfect Storm Launches TV Arm, Taps Woodrow to Lead

Perfect Storm already has a first-look comedy deal in place at Sony Pictures TV

Perfect Storm Entertainment is branching out from silver screen to smallscreen with the inception of a TV division, and has hired FX alum Danielle Woodrow to lead it.

Division will focus on developing scripted dramas and laffers for broadcast and cable nets, along with the digital and international TV space.

Perfect Storm, a joint venture between “Fast Five” helmer Justin Lin and Bruno Wu’s Seven Stars Film Studios, is topped by Troy Craig Poon. Company was launched last spring, and recently closed a first-look comedy deal with Sony Pictures TV.

Woodrow was previously senior veep of original programming at FX Networks, overseeing the current series department. She has also logged years handling development at MTV.

Perfect Storm Entertainment veep Ryan Andolina will work closely with Woodrow.

“Justin, Bruno and I are thrilled to bring Danielle into the partnership and are extremely excited about the opportunities that lay ahead,” said Poon. “I have known Danielle a long time and greatly admire her abilities.”
