Omari Hardwick to Topline Starz Drama From 50 Cent

'Power' will debut on Starz in 2014

Omari Hardwick will star in “Power,” an hourlong drama from Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson set up at Starz.

Hardwick will play James “Ghost” St. Patrick, a wealthy Gotham nightclub owner who lives a double life as a drug kingpin.

“Omari is an actor of incredible range and versatility,” said Starz managing director, Carmi Zlotnik. “When we met Omari, we knew he had all the tools needed to play such a complicated and complex character. We look forward to him bringing Ghost to life on the screen.”

The thesp’s feature film credits include “Sparkle,” “For Colored Girls” and “The A-Team.”

Starz plans to bow the eight-episode first season of “Power” next year. Courtney Kemp Agboh created the series and serves as showrunner, exec producing alongside Jackson, Mark Canton and Randall Emmett.
