After seeing ratings dip against the Mouse House, Nickelodeon has hit its stride with freshman series “Sam & Cat,” and ordered an additional 20 segs of the live-action skein to be rolled out this year.
Since its launch last month, “Sam & Cat” has averaged 3.7 million viewers in its Saturday night timeslot, and draws the most eyeballs of any Nickelodeon property on Nick’s app and website.
Series is a crossover spinoff of “iCarly” and “Victorious” and stars Jennette McCurdy and Ariana Grande. Half-hour program follows the pair as they become best friends and roommates who start a babysitting service.
“Kids have already shown their love for Jennette and Ariana’s crazy adventures and comedic talent in ‘Sam & Cat,'” said Hicks. “We are thrilled to be delivering even more of their wild antics from this successful series.”
“Sam & Cat” airs on Saturdays at 8 p.m. on Nickelodeon.
