The “Modern Family” clan got into the upfront action on Monday night, hosting a schmooze-fest with media buyers in anticipation of the hit ABC/20th Century Fox TV’s sitcom’s syndie bow this fall.

Steve Levitan, co-creator and exec producer, turned out for a reception hosted by Twentieth TV at Gary’s Loft in Manhattan. Also on hand were News Corp. prexy-COO Chase Carey (underscoring how much the show’s syndie revenues will mean to News Corp.’s bottom line), Fox Television Stations’ Jack Abernethy and series stars Ed O’Neill, Julie Bowen, Sofia Vergara, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet and Sarah Hyland.

Levitan charmed his aud by inviting media buyers and marketers to suggest ideas for upcoming segs from their own family experiences.

“Since we’re at 96 episodes already, if you have any story ideas, I would love to hear them,” he said.

Modern Family” reruns bow this fall on USA Network and on local broadcast stations. Show, which wraps its fourth season on ABC in May, is expected to clean up in barter advertising time that Twentieth TV retains in every run.
