Massey new PR topper at the Hub

Industry vet replaces Mark Kern, who has left the tyke cabler

TV vet Joanna Massey has shifted to the Hub as senior VP of communications and publicity.

Massey replaces head of PR Mark Kern, who asked to exit the tyke cabler in the fall and just recently left. She will be responsible for managing national, trade and local press, counseling senior leadership and implementing strategy.

In announcing Massey’s position, president-CEO Margaret Loesch said: “We are poised for even greater growth and achievement, and Joanna’s passion and commitment will help to further drive the public and trade’s awareness of our network.”

Massey was senior VP of media relations at UPN from 2001-06 and then was at CBS for a year before stepping away from full-time work to earn two graduate degrees.

For the past several years she has helped CW prepare for its advertiser upfront.
