Mark Burnett Sets U.K. Production Venture with Red Arrow

One Three Media U.K. to open its doors in January

Mark Burnett’s One Three Media is extending its reach into the U.K. through a production venture with Red Arrow Entertainment.

Deal calls for the new company to focus on bringing One Three formats to the U.K. market as well as developing original fare, with support from Red Arrow’s existing partner, CPL Prods.

One Three Media U.K. will formally open its doors in January. A head for the company will be announced soon.

Burnett, a native son of Blighty, has long planned to establish a London outpost for One Three, the production-distribution venture he co-owns with Hearst Corp. Burnett and Roma Downey, his wife and producing partner, already have a separate production company based in London, Lightworkers Media.

“As I grew up in the U.K., I am always looking at the best way to do more business here and when the opportunity came up with Red Arrow it just made sense,” Burnett said. “We have partnered with Red Arrow’s CPL on several projects in the past. They are very similar to us in their commitment to providing quality content with unparalleled execution.”

Said Jan Frouman, managing director of Red Arrow Entertainment Group: “Mark Burnett is one of the premier creators and producers of our time.  Partnering in the U.K. feels like an incredibly smart and effective way to build on the working relationships we’ve established — as well as the collective strengths of our two groups.”

Burnett is an established player in the British TV scene, thanks to the success of the Brit rendition of “The Apprentice” and other shows.
