Maggie Gyllenhaal to Star in Sundance Channel’s ‘Honourable Woman’

Mini to bow next year on Sundance Channel and BBC Two

Sundance Channel has greenlit miniseries “The Honourable Woman,” with Maggie Gyllenhaal slated to topline.

A co-production with BBC Worldwide, North America, “The Honourable Woman” is a political thriller that centers on Nessa Stein (Gyllenhaal), a woman who inherits her father’s arms business and finds herself in a international maelstrom when as she continues to promote the reconciliation between Israelis and Palestinians.

Eight part mini is penned and helmed by Hugo Blick, who will exec produce with Greg Brenman and Polly Hill. Abi Bach serves as producer.

Project was originally commissioned by BBC Two and is an Eight Rooks and Drama Republic production. “The Honourable Woman” will begin lensing next month, and is slated to debut on Sundance Channel and the U.K.’s BBC Two in 2014.
