Jay Baruchel’s comedy project has landed at ABC with a significant penalty and pre-negotiated license fees.
From 20th Century Fox TV and Tagline Pictures, laffer is a semi-autobiographical take on Baruchel’s life as an actor who eschews the superficiality of Hollywood to move back home to Burlington, Vermont, where he buys a home down the street from his mom and invites his close childhood friends to live with him.
Baruchel will pen and exec produce the project with his writing partner Jesse Chabot. Willie Mercer and Marc Hamou of Thruline will also exec produce.
Chabot and Baruchel are repped by CAA, Thruline Entertainment and Jamie Feldman of Lichter, Grossman, Nochols, Adler & Feldman.
