Dirk Hoogstra Elevated at History Channel

Exec helped shepherd miniseries hit 'Hatfields & McCoys'

A+E Networks has promoted Dirk Hoogstra to exec development and programming veep for History and its companion H2.

Hoogstra has with History since 2007 and at the SVP level at History since 2010. He manages the development, creation and execution of all programming for History at H2 and oversees their programming teams. He is also integrating new programming with online.

As an exec producer, he also helped shepherd miniseries “Hatfields & McCoys” in May to massive audiences for cable, averaging 13.8 million viewers over its six hours.

“Dirk is one of the fastest rising stars in the business,” said A+E entertainment and media prexy Nancy Dubuc, to whom Hoogstra reports. “Creative and entrepreneurial, he has built one of the best programming teams in the business and (has) deep relationships with the creative community.”
