Stephen Lloyd has inked a two-year overall deal with 20th Century Fox TV.
Lloyd has been under an overall at the studio for the last two years. Lloyd also held an overall with 20th TV in 2005.
The scribe-producer will continue to exec produce the final season of 20th Century TV-produced “How I Met Your Mother,” and then join “Modern Family” next season.
“Stephen has been on ‘How I Met Your Mother’ from almost the beginning, and his contribution there has been enormous,” said Gary Newman, chairman of the studio. “We couldn’t imagine not having him on the show for its pivotal final season…He’s a hugely versatile writer who delivers both laugh out loud comedy and enormous heart, and every showrunner wants him on their team. We also know he has a hit show of his own in him and this ensures that it will be for us.”
Lloyd, a “Just Shoot Me” vet, has also logged credits on “Stacked,” “Baby Bob” and “Rude Awakening.”
