ABC Nabs ‘Good Thief’s Guide’ Drama from Hart Hanson

Globe-trotting drama based on book series hails from 20th Century Fox TV

ABC has landed Hart Hanson and Andrew Miller’s project “The Good Thief’s Guide” with a significant penalty.

Hourlong drama, to be produced by 20th Century Fox TV, is based on the best-selling book series by Brit author Chris Ewan. “Good Thief’s Guide” follows Charlie Howard as he travels the world, blogging about his adventures while stealing for fun and profit. The hope is that each season would be set in a different exotic city.

Miller and Hanson (pictured) will write and exec produce “Good Thief’s Guide.”

Hanson is one of the TV biz’s most sought-after showrunners. He’s been at the helm of Fox’s “Bones” for the past nine seasons. He developed a drama project, “Backstrom,” starring Rainn Wilson, for CBS last year through 20th TV.

Miller’s recent credits include CW’s “The Secret Circle” and pilot scripts for Fox, ABC and NBC.

Hanson and Miller are repped by WME.
