‘Happy Endings’ Team Sells Comedy to ABC

30-something comedy falls under Groff's overall with ABC Studios

ABC may have pulled the plug on “Happy Endings” earlier this year, but the creatives of the now-defunct comedy aren’t done at the Alphabet quite yet.

Casey Wilson, Jonathan Groff and June Diane Raphael have sold a pitch to ABC titled “DINKS,” an acronym for “Double Income, No Kids,” with a pilot production commitment. Half-hour project centers on a thirtysomething couple who straddle the line between life with kids and the single life without them.

Groff will exec produce the comedy through his overall with ABC Studios. He recently served as showrunner on “Happy Endings,” which Wilson toplined. Raphael currently stars on Adult Swim’s “NTSF” but did a guest spot on “Happy Endings” as well.

Wilson and Raphael also penned feature film “Bride Wars” and forthcoming pic “Ass Backwards.”

Raphael and Wilson are repped by UTA and attorney PJ Shapiro. Wilson is also repped by Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment, and Raphael by Silver Lining Entertainment. Groff is repped by attorney Jared Levine and managed by Tim Sarkes.
