‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Showrunners Sign with CBS TV Studios

Pact arrives as the pair wrap their last season on 'Grey's,' along with an overall at ABC

Tony Phelan and Joan Rater

Tony Phelan and Joan Rater have inked a two-year overall with CBS TV Studios. Pact, which is the first TV development deal for the duo, will begin next summer.

Pair, who currently exec produce and co-showrun ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” will supervise projects for the Eye this fall, and develop their own projects for the studio when the overall kicks in in 2014.

Previously, Phelan and Rater held an exclusive two-year deal at ABC that was linked to “Grey’s Anatomy.”

Phelan and Rater have logged eight seasons on “Grey’s,” and are ending their tenure with the drama this season. They previously co-produced NBC’s “Law and Order: Trial by Jury.”

Rater and Phelan are repped by UTA and Myman Greenspan.
