FX orders new season of ‘Archer’

Toon comedy seeing ratings increases in several demos

FX is sticking with “Archer,” ordering a fifth season of the spy toon comedy.

Cabler has asked for 13 episodes for the new season, which will likely launch in 2014. Current season, which has seven new episodes remaining, ends April 11.

“Archer” has seen ratings gains this season, up 44% in the 18-34 demo and 36% in the 18-49 demo.

Show is produced inhouse by FX Prods. Adam Reed and Matt Thompson are the creators and exec producers. Cabler has a deal with their shingle, Floyd County Prods.

“It is truly rewarding the way in which the audience and fans have embraced their work and that the ratings to continue to grow,said Nick Grad, exec VP of original programming and development.

Voice cast for the series include H. Jon Benjamin, Judy Greer, Aisha Tyler and Jessica Walter.
