Fox Stations Pickup Daytime Talkshow 'The Real' Fall 2014

The Fox O&O group has given the formal greenlight to Warner Bros.’ syndie talkshow “The Real” for a fall 2014 debut.

The panel strip, which offers a multicultural femme spin on “The View” format, is hosted by Tamar Braxton, Loni Love, Adrienne Bailon, Jeannie Mai and Tamera Mowry-Housley and is exec produced by “Jersey Shore” maven SallyAnn Salsano.

“Real” had a solid four-week test run on Fox O&Os in seven markets this summer, including Gotham and Los Angeles. The pickup for next fall had been expected. The show will have a same-day second window on cabler BET.

“We’re all looking for younger adults and this program delivered big time,” said Frank Cicha, senior VP of programming for Fox Television Stations, who noted that the show has the ability to play in multiple dayparts, offering flexibility for the stations.

“The Real” will air on 18 Fox-owned stations, including the mothership network affils in Gotham, L.A. and Chicago.
