Fox orders two drama pilots

'Justified' vets team with Johnson to exec produce 'Wild Blue'

Fox has announced the order of two drama pilots, including one from exec producers Graham Yost and Mark Johnson.

“Wild Blue,” written by Taylor Elmore and exec produced by Yost and Johnson, centers on young men and women working in a pressure-cooker world on board a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier, with an “Upstairs/Downstairs” element. Michael Dinner will direct the pilot and also exec produce.

Elmore, Dinner and Yost have worked together on “Justified,” while Johnson’s recent TV involvement has included exec producing on “Breaking Bad.” Sony Pictures TV is producing “Wild.”

The other pilot ordered by Fox is “Gang Related,” from Imagine Entertainment in association with Twentieth Century Fox TV. In the project, a gang member sent to infiltrate the San Francisco Police Department battles conflicting loyalties to the two camps.

Writer Chris Morgan (“Fast Five”) is exec producing “Gang” with Brian Grazer, Francie Calfo and Scott Rosenbaum. On Tuesday, another pilot on which Morgan is a producer, “Big Thunder,” was greenlit by ABC. Fox is in first position with Morgan.
