Disney Channels Promote Adam Bonnett

Exec earns newly created position

Disney Channels Worldwide has elevated Adam Bonnett to the newly created title of exec veep of original programming.

A 16-year Disney Channel vet, Bonnett will continue to oversee live-action development and current original series and movies, along with talent and casting relations for Disney Channel and Disney XD. In the past year, Disney Channel supplanted Nickelodeon as the most watched channel among kids 2-11.

Bonnett shepherded such shows as “Wizards of Waverly Place,” “Hannah Montana,” “Good Luck Charlie,” “Lab Rats” and “Kickin’ It.”

“Adam is an extraordinarily talented executive who brilliantly blends great storytelling with great comedy and, in doing so, has helped create the #1 kids network on television,” Disney Channels Worldwide prexy/chief creative officer Gary Marsh said. “His instinct for finding and developing the nucleus of what makes great kid and family programming is unrivaled.”
