CW’s ‘Carrie Diaries’ Finds Its Samantha Jones

Role marks Lindsey Gort's first major TV casting

Lindsey Gort will play a young Samantha Jones on the CW’s “The Carrie Diaries,” it was announced today.

Jones is billed as a ballsy young woman from the panhandle of Florida who has made her way to the 1980s rock ‘n’ roll scene in Gotham where she meets a young Carrie Bradshaw. As “The Carrie Diaries” serves as a loose prequel to HBO’s “Sex and the City,” Gort’s character grows up to be the saucy Samantha Jones made famous by “SATC’s” Kim Cattrall.

Role marks the first major TV gig for Gort, who is a relative newcomer and will appear in feature film “2 Guns” this summer.

The Carrie Diaries” returns for its second season on Oct. 25 on the CW.
