Allison Gollust, a longtime adviser to CNN Worldwide President Jeff Zucker, is expanding her duties at the Time Warner-owned cable-news outlet and taking on the role of chief marketing officer.
Gollust, who joined CNN in March, will retain her duties as the network’s chief spokesperson and supervisor of its public relations.
As CMO, Gollust will have oversight of strategic marketing, creative services and event marketing, and report to Zucker., while continuing to report on communications matters to Jeff Matteson, senior vice president of communications for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., the Time Warner unit of which CNN is part.
Before joining CNN, Gollust served as communications director for New York State Governor Andrew M. Cuomo. Prior to that, she was executive vice president of corporate communications for NBCUniversal, where she oversaw all aspects of the company’s global communications efforts. She started at NBC in the corporate communications group in 1996. She began her career as a news anchor, reporter and producer in Denver.
