Cabler NuvoTV Taps Bill Hilary Head of Programming

Former Comedy Central exec Bill Hilary has joined cabler NuvoTV as head of programming.

Hilary will oversee all aspects of the network’s programming, including development, production, acquisitions and scheduling. He’s based in Los Angeles and reports to NuvoTV CEO Michael Schwimmer.

The indie cabler that targets Latino viewers with English-lingo programming as been in growth mode during the past year after setting a partnership with Jennifer Lopez’s Nuyorican Prods. In addition to Hilary, cabler has tapped Lynnette Ramirez as veep of programming. She was most recently an exec at George Lopez’s production shingle.

Hilary was previously exec veep and g.m. of Comedy Central, and he logged a stint at BBC America. More recently he was president of InterPublic Group’s Magna Global Entertainment and COO of World Television Prods. Intl.

“NuvoTV is ready to take advantage of a truly unprecedented opportunity, with its large and fast-growing target Latino audience, a powerful new partnership with Jennifer Lopez, and the resources to deliver unique entertainment that is both in demand and missing from mainstream networks,” Hilary said.
