Billy Campbell has been cast in Fox pilot “Delirium.” Thesp joins Emma Roberts, who toplines the project.

Drama, based on Lauren Oliver’s young adult book trilogy, centers on a world where love is illegal and can be eradicated with a special procedure.

Campbell will play Thomas Fineman, a wealthy political leader who heads a lobbying organization called Deliria Free America. Fineman opposes the chaos caused by Deliria, and supports the use of brain modification that prevents citizens from falling in love, thereby leading to a more peaceful, ordered society.

Karyn Usher has penned the “Delirium” pilot and will exec produce. Chernin Entertainment is producing the project in association with 20th Century Fox TV.

Campbell’s recent TV credits include “The Killing.” He also stars as Abraham Lincoln in National Geographic Channel’s telepic “Killing Lincoln,” which adapts Bill O’Reilly’s book and bows on the cabler on Monday.

He is repped by Sean Grumman at CAA and Sean Fay at KLWGN Entertainment.
