Battista named CEO of Mandalay Sports Media

Longtime Fox vet will head up Guber's shingle

Rich Battista has been tabbed CEO of Peter Guber’s Mandalay Sports Media.

Battista, an 18-year veteran of Fox until 2010, was president of national cable networks where such nets as FX, National Geographic Channel and Speed were under his purview.

The longtime TV exec will guide the day-to-day business operations as well as spearheading business development and identifying strategic opportunities for investment and acquisition.

“This is a critically important position for us, and Rich is uniquely qualified to create enterprise value for this venture,” said Guber.

Guber, whose Mandalay Sports Media is co-chaired by Mike Tollin and delves into both sports and entertainment, has financial interests in the Los Angeles Dodgers and Golden State Warriors.
