Animal Planet orders ‘Money Barn,’ ‘Swamp’d’

Series set for February, spring premieres

Animal Planet has greenlit two new projects, “Money Barn” from Original Prods. and “Swamp’d!” from Leftfield Pictures.

“Money Barn” spins off the auctioneer trend in reality TV, focusing on the heirlooms that have collected in barns. Cabler ordered five half-hour episodes of “Money Barn” and will debut the skein in February. Thom Beers, Philip David Segal and Jeff Conroy exec produce the series for Original, while Dawn Sinsel exec produces for Animal Planet.

“Swamp’d!” centers on P’Maw’s Bait Shack in Louisiana, which caters to a community of quirky characters. Animal Planet will debut eight half-hour episodes in the spring. Brent Montgomery, Dominick Pupa, Will Nothacker and Keith Hoffman exec produce.

“These projects continue to push the range of stories we have to tell our audience,” said Animal Planet topper Marjorie Kaplan.

The shows join “Top Hooker” in Animal Planet’s upcoming lineup. “Top Hooker” is a fishing competition series from Pilgrim Studios that premieres this summer.
