ABC Buys ‘Bounty’ Drama from ‘CSI’ Creator Anthony Zuiker

Project falls under Zuiker's overall deal with ABC Studios

CSI” creator Anthony Zuiker has sold drama project “The Bounty” to ABC.

“Bounty” follows one victim’s quest for justice and healing after her brother is murdered. A national frenzy erupts when she inspires America to create the largest bounty in history for the killer’s capture.

Matt Cirulnick (“South Beach”) serves as scribe, and will exec produce “The Bounty” alongside Zuiker, Robin Schwartz, Margaret Riley and David McIlvain.

Zuiker’s banner Dare To Pass will produce through ABC Studios, where Zuiker holds an overall deal. Brillstein Entertainment will also produce.

“The Bounty takes such a fresh approach to the crime show genre by combining the universal theme that we all want justice for the victim with how crowd-sourcing plays a very important role in helping law enforcement today,” said Zuiker.  “Matt Cirulnick is writing a script that is both so emotional and so relevant, that I could not be more pleased to be working together.”

Zuiker’s reality effort “Whodunnit?” recently wrapped its freshman run on the Alphabet this summer.

Zuiker and Cirulnick are both repped by CAA and Brillstein.

Roger Ailes in 1996 supervised the launch of a multibillion-dollar business few people thought would ever get off the ground. In 2019 he may have a posthumous hand in instigating something equally complex: a ripped-from-the-headlines drama about the media industry, complete with portrayals of people who still help make it run. If that foray is successful, plenty of [...]
