Keshet Intl., the international distribution and production arm of Israel’s Keshet Media Group, is set to expand its footprint with the launch of Keshet Australia.

The company is joining forces with TV production shingle Northern Pictures to bring Keshet’s slate of scripted and unscripted formats to Australia and New Zealand.

Deal was unveiled Tuesday by Northern Pictures owner David Haslingden and Keshet Intl.’s managing director Alon Shtruzman.

Under the agreement, Keshet Australia will be jointly owned by RACAT, the conglom that owns Northern Pictures, and Keshet Intl.

Northern Pictures will have the rights to more than 50 Keshet Intl. properties.

Haslingden, who recently purchased Northern Pictures, NHNZ and Singapore-based Beach House Pictures, sees the deal as a key step for Northern Pictures, which is moving into new genres.

Keshet Intl.’s slate includes such hits as “Prisoners of War” (pictured) and buddy comedy format “Traffic Light.”
