LONDON — Danny Boyle is set to helm a contempo cop drama skein for U.K. pubcaster Channel 4.

Boyle has been commissioned to direct the pilot, “Babylon,” which will air early next year.

The show has been penned by Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong, whose credits including comedy series “Peep Show” and terrorist comedy pic “Four Lions.”

The series was unveiled by Channel 4 chief creative officer Jay Hunt Thursday at the Edinburgh Intl. TV Festival.

Boyle worked with the broadcaster’s movie arm Film4 on “Slumdog Millionaire,” for which he won the Oscar for best director.

U.K. shingle Nightjack will produce the as-yet-untitled skein, which will be exec produced by Robert Jones (“Run Fatboy Run”).
