Logic always dictated that NBC and the Golden Globes might seek a return engagement from Tina Fey and Amy Poehler after their widely praised hosting stint in January, and while no concrete conversations have taken place, that appears to be the case.
Deadline reported today that NBC and Dick Clark Prods. are beginning to sound out Fey and Poehler for a Golden Globes round two on Jan. 12.
Amid an environment where many argue that hosting an awards show is a thankless task, Fey and Poehler represented a coup for the Hollywood Foreign Press Assn, giving them a win over the controversial outing that followed from Seth MacFarlane.
Representatives for Fey and for Poehler had no comment on the talks. Whether Fey and Poehler would return to the Globes remains to be seen, but the gig requires much less of a commitment than hosting the Oscars or Emmys would.
