Fifteen programs honored

As part of an effort to honor Emmy-nominated shows made locally in the Los Angeles area, the Made in Hollywood Awards presented 15 kudos Thursday to such programs as “Mad Men” and “The Big Bang Theory.”

In variety series, prizes went to “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and “Real Time with Bill Maher,” with “Mel Brooks Strikes Back!” grabbing variety special honors.

Good Luck Charlie” and “iCarly” recieved MIH recognition for children’s programs. “Stand Up to Cancer” won the award in the informational series or special category.

“These awards honor the producers, studios and artists who elected to make their excellent product here in the entertainment capital of the world,” La Bonge said, “where it all began and where it has always been and still is done best.

“I asked Angie Dickinson to join me for this occasion because, in addition to her beauty and talents, she exemplifies the determination to bring production back to its home.  At her insistence, all episodes of her long-running ‘Police Woman’ series were made locally rather than a previously determine out-of-state location.”

The Made in Hollywood Awards have also honored films, with “Argo” among those receiving such a trophy.
