HONG KONG – Hui Keng Ang has been named as senior vice president and general manager, networks, Asia for Sony Pictures Television (SPT), it was announced today

Based in Singapore, Ang will oversee the networks’ robust portfolio of channels across Southeast Asia, including AXN, Sony Entertainment Television, beTV, ONE, Animax and the recently-announced GEM. In addition, he will continue to manage the company’s interest in joint-venture networks AXN and Animax in Korea, as well as Televiva in Indonesia.

He reports to George Chien, executive vice president, networks, Asia-Pacific for SPT.

The move is a further promotion for Ang who first joined SPT Networks, Asia as financial controller in 1997.

It is also a further reshuffle following the August departure of Ricky Ow as executive VP of Sony Pictures Television and Ow’s subsequent appointment to the top job at Turner Broadcasting System in Asia.
