It was a night of reunions at Steve Tisch’s house in Beverly Hills, where NYU alums gathered June 4 to hear about the Tisch School of the Arts upcoming gala at the BevWilshire.

Working Title’s Liza Chasin was announced as the first honoree to be feted at the Oct. 28 benefit.

“When I made the declaration that I wanted to go to film school, after picking my parents off the floor, I was told I’d have to go to USC,” Chasin recalled. “But if I loved movies I should go to Tisch — and I really liked movies. So that’s what I did.”

Bill Paxton also reflected on his college experience at NYU.

“I was at NYU a million years ago,” he said. “I think Alec Baldwin was a year ahead of me. The city really opened my eyes and inspired me since I was a Midwestern boy.”

With a scenic backdrop of the city from up in the hills, guests Oliver Stone and Laurence Mark sipped tart margaritas and tried to avoid falling into Tisch’s backyard pool.

Tisch joked, “I don’t think I would be able to get into the school so instead we bought it.”
