Comedienne Susie Essman provided most of the laughter May 22 at the Museum of the Moving Image gala in Gotham. According to the erstwhile “Curb Your Enthusiasm” thesp, she just doesn’t understand why networks are targeting the 19-24 demo.

“I have four kids, aged 19-25, and let me tell you, they’re fucking idiots,” she told the St. Regis crowd. “I blame it on the bike helmets. These kids didn’t get enough concussions when they were little.”

Essman’s name came up a couple of times during the night.

“Yeah, that’s fucking brilliant going after Susie,” said Nancy Duboc, who was there to present A+E Networks colleague Abbe Raven (pictured center) with her award.

“One of the great honors is to be insulted by Susie,” said Charter  Communications’ Tom Rutledge, also being honored.

Regarding the award itself, the Museum’s Herbert Schlosser (pictured left) struggled to free it from the Tiffany’s wrapping and box. “I think next time we’ll unwrap it first,” he added.

Upon receiving her honor, Raven gushed, “When I started as a production assistant copying scripts in 1982, I never would’ve imagined I’d be standing here.”
