The effects of the Eurozone crisis, the future of 3D and financing opportunities in Europe, will be among the main topics at the Berlinale’s European Film Market Industry Debates this year.

The EFM is again partnering with Variety and other industry publications to examine the issues facing the international film biz at three panels running Feb. 8-10.

Taking part in a discussion on how the economic downturn is impacting financing are Ira von Gienanth of German distrib Prokino, Adria Mones of Filmax in Spain and producer Rebecca O’Brien of the U.K.’s Sixteen Films.

3D panelists include Belgian filmmaker and 3D pioneer Ben Stassen, Red Bull Media cinema head Sophokles Tasioulis and RealD Europa managing director Bob Mayson.

For the final panel, Jean-Baptiste Babin of France’s Backup Media Group, Leonardo M. Barros of Brazil’s Conspiracao Filmes, Martin Moszkowicz, head of film and TV at Germany’s Constantin Film, and Catherine Mtsitouridze, CEO of Roskino in Russia, will discuss new approaches to financing with Variety’s chief international correspondent, John Hopewell.

The Berlinale runs Feb. 7-17.
