Arcade Fire Debut New Songs on ‘SNL,’ After-Show Special

Band premiere four new tracks on 'SNL,' 'Arcade Fire Special'

Arcade Fire kicked off the 39th season of “SNL” in a big way Saturday night.

The Grammy-winning rockers performed their new single “Reflektor” on the Tina Fey-hosted premiere, followed by a new song called “Afterlife” before returning for a 30 minute “Arcade Fire Special,” in which the band premiered three additional songs in a somewhat choreographed (and star-studded) concert.

Directed by Roman Coppola, the “Arcade Fire Special” featured the band performing in a tiny night club, plus cameos from James Franco, Ben Stiller, Bono, Michael Cera, Bill Hader and Zach Gilifianakis.

Earlier in the night, the band also appeared in an “SNL” skit dubbed “New Cast Member or Arcade Fire?”
