‘Hercules’ Adds ‘Twilight’ Actor to the Cast

Twilight” thesp Joe Anderson has boarded the MGM and Paramount pic “Hercules,” starring Dwayne Johnson.

Brett Ratner is directing with Ian McShane and Joseph Fiennes also starring.

The graphic novel from which the film is based describes Hercules as a tormented soul who walked the earth, finding his only solace in bloody battle. Anderson will play a marathon runner who brings Hercules news of enemy Rhesus’ movement before the battle.

Producers are Beau Flynn, Barry Levine and Ratner. Exec producers are Peter Berg, Sarah Aubrey and Jesse Berger.

The film is currently in production. Paramount will release “Hercules” on July 25, 2014.

Anderson’s other past credits include “The Grey” and “Across the Universe.” He can be seen next in the Red Granite pic “Horns.” He is repped by CAA, Management 360 and United Agents.
