Arc Promotes Kallan Kagan

Former production head will now serve as chief creative officer

Toronto-based CG animation and VFX house Arc Productions has promoted Kallan Kagan to president and chief creative officer.

Kagan previously served as Arc’s head of production, where she oversaw all of the company’s projects and created its Intellectual Property and Creative Development Committee.

“Kallan’s business acumen, production experience, and creative sensibilities combined make her a significant force in the industry,” Arc CEO J. Thomas Murray said in a release announcing the promotion. “She has the respect of her staff, her peers and our clients.  There is no one better suited to lead Arc’s incredibly talented team.”

Kagan’s relationship with Arc began when as a client, when she selected the studio to animate a Christmas special she produced for Macy’s that airs perennially on CBS. Arc later invited her to join as exec producer, and she quickly rode to run production. She began her career at Dreamquest Images and later produced projects for Warner Bros., Mattel and the Walt Disney Co.

Arc has animated five features including “Gnomeo and Juliet” and “9.”  The studio is also in production on HiT Entertainment’s “Thomas and Friends” as well as digital content for Mattel. The company is repped by Paradigm.
