Three Blighty hits and a couple of Broadway shows are on the bill for next season at the Ahmanson Theater in Los Angeles.
Danny DeVito and Richard Griffiths in the U.S. preem of “The Sunshine Boys,” the revival that was a hit in London, kicks off the season Sept. 24-Nov. 3. Other highlights include rock band Queen and Ben Elton’s “We Will Rock You” and former Rialto players “Peter and the Starcatcher” and “Porgy and Bess.”
Bonus show “Matthew Bourne’s Sleeping Beauty,” plays Nov. 21-Dec. 1, followed Dec. 3-Jan. 12 by “Peter and the Starcatcher,” which closed on Broadway on Jan. 20.
Barry Manilow and Bruce Sussman’s “Harmony,” a co-production with Atlanta’s Alliance Theater, will be staged March 5-April 13, 2014. “Porgy and Bess,” adapted by Suzan Lori-Parks and directed by Diane Paulus, runs April 22-June 1, 2014.
David Suchet stars in “The Last Confession,” a bonus production running June 10-July 6, 2014. The season wraps with the West End-originated Queen tuner “We Will Rock You,” (July 15-Aug. 24).
