Jane Lynch will go from harrassing the “Glee” teens to the little orphans of “Annie” later this spring, with Lynch set to make her Broadway debut as the villainous Miss Hannigan in the Rialto revival for eight weeks starting in May.

Role is currently played by Katie Finneran. Most thesps in the original cast of a particular production often have contracts of about a year, but in this case Finneran is exiting early (at an exact date to be specified) to begin work on a TV project, the upcoming NBC comedy toplined by Michael J. Fox.

Lynch did the majority of her stage work with Chicago companies including Second City and Steppenwolf before concentrating on screen gigs in movies, including “Best in Show” and “The 40 Year Old Virgin,” and TV series such as “Party Down.”

In “Annie,” she’ll appear alongside original cast members of the revival including Lilla Crawford (as the titular orphan) and Anthony Warlow (as Daddy Warbucks).

Helmed by James Lapine, “Annie” opened Nov. 8 at the Palace Theater. Lynch’s stint in the show, slotted in between seasons of “Glee,” will run May 16-July 14.
