Quentin Tarantino honored the cast and makers of “Dazed and Confused” on March 7 in Austin, Texas. The Richard Linklater pic celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and Tarantino was there at the Austin Studios Stage 7 to present the Star of Texas Award to “Dazed” at the Texas Film Hall of Fame ceremony.

Why Tarantino?

As he explained, “At the height of my loneliness, I went to Mondo Video in Amsterdam and rented ‘Dazed and Confused’ and all the sudden I wasn’t lonely anymore. I’d seen it so often. You know this community. You know these people. It goes beyond being about Texas. Those people have become my friends over the years. I watched ‘Dazed and Confused’ and I wasn’t lonely. Thank you for making a movie I like so very much.”
