In a pre-Cannes move, XYZ Films has named veteran exec Sarah Gabriel as director of sales.
The banner plans to launch international sales next week at Cannes on Erik Matti’s “On the Job,” (pictured) the Tagalog-language action-thriller making its world premiere in the Directors’ Fortnight section.
Gabriel previously has worked at Celluloid Nightmares — the former partnership between XYZ Films and Celluloid Dreams — and at Lionsgate as international sales coordinator under Helen Lee-Kim. She began her career in the international department at New Line.
XYZ Films and PT Merantau Films are in production on “The Raid 2” and are in post-production on “Killers,” co-directed by Timo Tjahjanto and Kimo Stamboel.
